An Imperial concrete crew that starts with the ground

I learned concrete under an old-school boss who made me tear out anything that was close enough. I started Advanced Imperial Concrete here in 2021 after years on his crews. We're licensed and insured, and we're known for flatwork like driveways, patios and walks, and for slabs that stay put because the prep got done right.

We're based in Imperial and work across the Imperial Valley. Most calls come from homeowners, along with people building new and owners of small commercial lots. Call (760) 483-7530 or use the contact page to set up a visit, or read more about how we work.

What we pour and build around Imperial

Advanced Imperial Concrete pours concrete in Imperial, from a sinking, cracked driveway to a new slab foundation. Size, how much old concrete comes out, the ground underneath and the finish set the price. Permits and weather set the schedule, and you get the price in writing after I walk the job.

Why people hire Advanced Imperial Concrete

I'd rather lose a bid than pour on ground I don't trust. The part nobody sees, the ground prep, forms and joints, decides whether concrete holds up, and skipping it is how a cheap job gets expensive.

  • Same person, estimate to pour

I'm the one who walks your job and asks the questions, and I'm on site running the crew on pour day, so nothing gets lost in between.

  • Pours timed for the heat

We plan each pour around the heat, sun and wind, not what's handy for us, because concrete poured in midday heat can end up with a weak, dusty top.

  • A straight answer up front

If your job needs an engineer or a soil study before we touch it, I'll tell you so, even if it means we don't get the job.

From your call to the finished pour

We keep the estimate simple because you shouldn't have to guess. It's free, done at your property and obligation-free, and the price goes in writing before you decide anything.

  1. You get in touch

Call (760) 483-7530 or send the form, and we reply within one business day to set a time to look at the job.

  2. I walk the job

I come out myself and ask more questions than you expect, about the ground, where water runs and how you'll use the slab.

  3. Written price, then prep

You get a written price. If you go ahead, we check what the city or county office wants, prep the ground and time the pour for the weather.

  4. Pour and walk-through

I'm on site running the crew for the pour, and we walk the finished job with you before we pack up.

Concrete questions we hear in Imperial

How much does a concrete driveway cost in Imperial, CA?

It depends mostly on the size, how much old concrete has to come out, what the ground underneath needs and the finish you choose. A plain broom finish costs less than stamped or colored work, and bad ground costs more to fix before we pour. I walk the job and put your price in writing, free.

Why are some concrete quotes so much cheaper than others?

Usually the cheap one skimps on the base, the part nobody sees once the slab is down. A base raked level over loose dirt settles with the dirt, while one dug out and packed holds the slab up. If the budget's tight, I'd keep the money in the base and go plainer on the finish, because you can't fix the ground later without tearing the slab out.

How long before I can use a new concrete driveway or patio?

You can usually walk on new concrete well before you can drive on it, because it needs time curing, the slow hardening that gives it strength, before it carries a car. We'll give you the wait for your slab, and keep in mind that permits and the weather decide when we can pour in the first place.

Does a concrete contractor need a license in California?

Yes, the state licensing board requires a license when a job needs a building permit, uses any additional workers or costs $1,000 or more in labor and materials combined. Splitting a bigger job into smaller contracts doesn't get around it, since the board counts it as a whole. We're licensed and insured.

Do I need a permit for concrete work in Imperial, CA?

It depends on the job, so we check with the city's Building and Safety Division before we start and help you through the paperwork. The division issues permits for building, altering or repairing structures, reviews plans and inspects job sites. Starting permit work before the permit is issued doubles the permit fees, so checking first is the cheaper way.

Do you guarantee your concrete work?

Yes, our promise is 'Your satisfaction, guaranteed.' The way we back it up is the work before the pour, because a slab on a packed base, with the drainage figured out and the joints cut on time, gives you a lot less to be unhappy about.

Will my new concrete slab crack like the old one?

A well-built slab can still crack a little, but with a packed base and control joints cut on time, the cracks usually land in the joints instead of across the middle. Most old slabs that crack and sink were poured on dirt raked level, or had joints cut late or skipped. We also slope new slabs away from the house so water doesn't sit against it.

Do I need an encroachment permit for concrete near the street in Imperial?

Yes, the city requires an encroachment permit, its permission to work on public land, for any work in the city right of way. That can include work along the street end of a driveway or walk, so we check that before we plan the job.
